Same here! Its hard to think of a movie better than the book, although Blade Runner may be one. Got my first few Amtrak Wars books in the late eighties I’d guess from our nearest library which was about 15 miles away - and then caught up with the publishing schedule which was exciting... 91 was a very good innings.
Shame they were never able to come to an agreement.
I think three short stories would have been a great way to round things out, I wonder if the publisher was only interested if they were big book format.
How awesome of him to have gotten in touch like that tho.
